CHILDREN'S BOOKS
I created Garret as a way for my kid with big feelings, Rydic, to understand what is going on his brain and in his body, when he feels activated. We use calming techniques together like tapping, singing, and deep breathing to reset ourselves and we give lots of hugs.
Henry looks different than the other cows in the glen. He has long curly hair that everyone wants to scrub and scratch. Henry does not like to be scrubbed and he certainly does not love being scratched. Join Henry as he learns his boundaries and how to express them.
Sheldon hates bath, he's too busy. He doesn't have time for it, until one day when he realizes that a bath is a portal to a different world. A world that Sheldon likes.
Frankie is a fainting goat who is just trying to find his place in the world. He thinks humans are a silly spectacle until he realizes that they may have just found something awesome, something that helps Frankie and his entire family.
As I read out loud to my son that night, I was reminded of the way that stories — and reading — can help us better understand ourselves and each other. Even at just four years old, thee feeling of identifying with a character or a story is a powerful one. - Deborah Farmer Kris, PBS Kids
Young children whose parents read them five books a day enter kindergarten having heard about 1.4 million more words than kids who were never read to, a new study found. - Jeff Grabmeir, Ohio State News
Most of us have memories of sharing a story — being read aloud to as a child — at home or at school, reading the same book as a friend, or hearing a grandparent tell a story. Getting immersed in a story together gives you a wonderful shared experience. - Beth Grushkin, Fuzzy Mama
Study finds higher quality interactions between parents and young children while reading traditional books over digital apps. When it comes to reading to young children, huddling together over a good old-fashioned is still better than story time on a tablet
My name is Fawn and I am a person with big feelings. I am neurodivergent, on the spectrum and in a process of healing from my childhood.
I have five beautiful kiddos that have big feelings too and we navigate those feelings together. We play, dance, sing, and learn through creativity and kindness.
Most of all, we LOVE.
I write books that help kids stay emotionally and physically safe, and give them tools for wellness, so they don't have to heal from their childhood.
We want to share our family with you because somebody loves you too.
We do.
